The Associate of Arts in Teaching Program is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree and certification to teach levels PK-12. Teachers shape the future of society by educating its children. The knowledge teachers impart empowers children as they grow. Students with a love of learning and a passion for education should consider this program. The A.A.T. program gives students significant freedom to create their course schedules, so they can focus on the subjects they want to teach. The required course topics apply to all teaching aspirations and include Technology for Teachers, Educational Psychology and Teaching Profession with Field Experience, which puts students in the classroom for at least 30 hours. Students should contact the intended transfer institution to ensure they are taking the right courses and maintaining GPA standards for their desired teaching certificate.
