Nursing: Direct Entry - Associate of Science

The OTC Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Program’s mission is to prepare students for careers as Registered Nurses (RNs). RNs are the largest healthcare profession in the world and are generally the most hands-on member of a medical team. Nurses aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty; they typically care for patients by helping them take medications, recording their conditions, counseling family members and much more. This is a direct entry program, meaning students are not required to have previous medical training. The courses are primarily offered online but may require clinical practice on campus or at a local healthcare facility. Graduates are eligible to write the NCLEX-RN exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse. OTC Nursing graduates can find positions in hospitals, physician offices, nursing care facilities, home health care services, government agencies and other health care settings.

The ASN Direct Entry program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing and has received initial approval contingent on a successful site visit by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
