Bioclinical Science - Certificate of Achievement

The Certificate in Bioclinical Science (BCS) covers the essential coursework of the first year of study for a variety of health-related fields. The required courses include foundational health topics such as human anatomy, physiology and microbiology. The program is designed to help students applying for an OTC Health Sciences program complete prerequisites while pursuing a certificate. Since most Health Sciences programs are selective admission, students awaiting acceptance are placed into the BCS program, so they can be degree-seeking for financial aid purposes. Students can graduate with both the BCS Certificate and a Health Sciences degree. The BCS program is not an appropriate choice for students planning to pursue an advanced medical degree (such as an MD). Students applying for a selective admission health sciences program should follow the recommended prerequisite course sequence provided by that program to ensure they are taking the appropriate courses.
