The Automotive Technology Program trains students to be auto experts capable of working with customers to find and fix problems with their vehicles. OTC’s certified instructors teach students the fundamentals of automotive system design, operation, diagnosis and repair. Students then apply course concepts and theory in the shop laboratory where they practice troubleshooting, service procedures, estimating and customer relations. The certificate program is designed for students who are already working or want to enter the workforce as soon as possible. The program requirements allow students to graduate faster than those pursuing the A.A.S. degree. The required courses include foundational topics such as engine repair, brakes, engine performance and automatic transmission. The automotive industry is changing and growing, with an increasing emphasis on safety and electronics expertise. While many graduates find work as general service technicians, our graduates are qualified for various entry-level specialty positions.
The Automotive Technology Program is accredited by the ASE Education Foundation.
