Drafting and Design Technology - Certificate of Achievement

This program trains students to utilize technology as a designer/drafter in a manufacturing, civil, structural or architectural setting. Students will learn how the design process works across industries and how to use software for spatial application. Program instructors will lead students as they apply class concepts using a computer-aided drafting system to complete projects. The certificate program is designed for students who are already working or want to enter the workforce as soon as possible. The program requirements allow students to graduate faster than those pursuing the A.A.S. degree. The required courses include Fundamentals of Drafting, Architectural Drafting, Production Design Drafting and more. Graduates can apply their skills to a variety of industries; the job outlook for skilled drafters is better than average since all new products and buildings require drawings and specifications. As communities grow, so does the drafting industry.
