Early Childhood Development - Certificate of Achievement

This program trains students to work in early childhood education or a related field. Quality of care contributes to children’s development, and an educated staff is the link between positive programs and early growth. Early childhood programs continue to grow, while a shortage of qualified workers means opportunities abound for those with a focused degree. OTC students have the unique opportunity to gain experience at the OTC Early Childhood Education Center. The certificate program is designed for students who are already working or want to enter the workforce as soon as possible. The program requirements allow students to graduate faster than those pursuing the A.A.S. degree. Program graduates can find positions at preschools, childcare centers, religious programs, recreational centers and other related organizations.

Note: Students must register with the Family Care Safety Registry and successfully pass the background screening prior to beginning a practicum requirement. Students will also need verification of a TB test and/or TB Risk Assessment signed by medical personnel.
