Paramedicine - Critical Care Transport - Certificate of Specialization

This certificate program builds upon current paramedics’ existing skillsets, allowing them to specialize as critical care transport paramedics. Critical care transport paramedics provide ICU-level care while transporting critically ill patients. Program courses cover a broad base of emergency and critical care physiology and pathophysiology. Students will learn to administer pharmacological treatments as well as advanced skills that are beyond the normal scope of a paramedic. Students will also learn the basics of flight transport, flight physiology and study CAMTS requirements. Paramedics who successfully complete this program will be able to test for and obtain certification as a critical care paramedic or flight paramedic from the International Board of Specialty Certification. Applicants to this program must be licensed paramedics.

The Paramedicine Program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP). The program is also accredited by the Missouri Department of the Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
